1. Our Commitment

Whatistheday is committed to making its content usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We regard accessibility as an ongoing effort rather than a one-time task, and we work to improve the site continuously.

2. Conformance Status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These are the guidelines referenced by Israeli Standard 5568 and by accessibility regulations in the EU, the UK and the United States.

The site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA: most of the site meets the standard, and the known exceptions are listed in section 5 below. We have not commissioned an external accessibility audit; our assessment is based on automated testing and internal review.

3. Accessibility Features on This Site

Accessibility menu — the button at the bottom-left of every page opens a panel with text-size controls, a high-contrast mode, link underlining, and a reduced-motion option. Your choices are remembered on your device.
Keyboard navigation — all interactive elements can be reached and operated with the keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
Skip to main content — a skip link appears as the first item when tabbing into a page.
Screen readers — semantic HTML, descriptive link text, image alternatives, and ARIA labels on controls.
Text and colour — text can be enlarged without loss of content, and colour is never the only means of conveying information.
Reduced motion — the site honours your operating-system "reduce motion" setting.
Responsive layout — the site adapts to zoom and to small screens without horizontal scrolling.

4. Assistive Technologies Supported

The site is designed to work with current versions of the major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge) together with the screen readers commonly used on those platforms, including NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver.

5. Known Limitations

We want to be straightforward about where the site currently falls short:

Third-party content — advertisements and embedded content supplied by third parties are outside our control and may not meet the same standard.
Content from external sources — some historical entries are drawn from external data sources and their wording is not edited by us.
Complex tables — a small number of multi-year date tables may be harder to follow with a screen reader. We are working on improving them.

If you encounter a barrier that is not listed here, we would genuinely like to know.

6. Reporting an Accessibility Problem

If you have difficulty using any part of this site, please contact us at contact@whatistheday.com. Please describe the page and what went wrong — the more specific you can be, the faster we can fix it.

We aim to respond within 14 days and to correct genuine accessibility faults as quickly as we reasonably can.

7. About This Statement

This statement was prepared in July 2026 and applies to whatistheday.com. It is reviewed when significant changes are made to the site. Whatistheday is a free informational website with no physical premises open to the public.
