Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2026

Breast Cancer Awareness Month runs through October, from Thursday, 1 October to Saturday, 31 October 2026. The countdown below shows the days left in the month. In Israel, women aged 50 to 74 are entitled to a mammogram every two years at no charge through their health fund.

Mammography for women aged 50 to 74 is part of the Israeli health basket and is done through the health funds once every two years. Women at higher risk, for example with a family history, may need earlier or more frequent screening; the referral comes from a family doctor. The Israel Cancer Association runs a free information line on breast cancer: 1-800-599-995.

Two dates in the month come from the United States and are marked worldwide: Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day on 13 October, recognized since 2009, and Male Breast Cancer Awareness Week, 17 to 23 October. Breast cancer also occurs in men, which is the point of that week.
